     Chaos & Disaster Productions will not give out your e-mail address, name or other personal data to a third party.
     We will bring your name / nickname or e-mail adress online to identify your work for this project if we have your consent to share the information.
     You may request deletion of your online information by sending an email to Birgit.

    Please exercise discretion while browsing the Internet using this site. You should be aware that when you "click" a link on our site, you could be directed to other sites that are beyond our control.
    These other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, solicit personal information, or contain information that you may find inappropriate or offensive.

    We have little to no influence over the sites that are linked to us, or who have a link to our site. Consequently, we cannot be held responsible for the accuracy, relevancy, copyright compliance, legality or decency of material contained in sites listed in our link section or otherwise outside of our site.

     Being fans of many shows and books ourselves, this section was the hardest to write. Everyone here knows how much effort and heart goes into anything that a fan creates.
     The only problem with fan produced material is that it often conflicts with copyright laws. Copyright laws make sure that the work of a person who creates something is protected against others using the material without permission.
     This conflict between the needs of fans and the laws is why we set up a few simple rules that will help both of us. You as a fan acknowledge the copyright, get our approval for a webpage, and don't write with the key characters and don't use any of our material without our written permission. We grant you (within limits) the right to work within The Remetsh Legacy Universe, write and exchange your own stories, run a fan-website and play your own Legacy roleplaying game. Do not, however, send us your material without asking first!
     All of us at Chaos & Disaster Productions hope that you understand that the following rules are not meant to spoil your fun, but to protect our work and give you a way to express yourself as a fan without breaking any laws. Thank you for your time to read this and for your cooperation.

General rules:

  1. You are not allowed to produce any commercial product based on or using The Remetsh Legacy, any of its characters or the universe, or any other Chaos & Disaster Productions fiction.
  2. Commercial Products are for example games, toys, novels, comics, movies, merchandise of all kind. This also includes Fanzines (magazines produced by fans).
    If you want to do any of these things or anything else that is commercial usage,     contact us.

Work by writers / artists etc. who are not part of Chaos & Disaster Productions, but contribute to the official story line:

Writers who want to write with the original characters, but don't qualify for a contract:

  1. If you want to write with the original characters, please contact us before sending any material. Material that you send without our request will be deleted on arrival, without being read. This has the simple reason that we want to avoid claims of "idea stealing".
  2. Your story will not become part of the official story-line, it is non-cannon.
  3. You work together with us on your story. You'll ackowledge our requests for changes, if your story conflicts with anything that is written by us or doesn't fit quality requirements.
  4. You are only allowed to write in the time parameters and continuity of the already published novels/ official online stories.
  5. Your name and e-mail address will be mentioned close to the link to your work and, if possible, in the work as well.
  6. By contributing to this Project, you allow us to publish your work on our webpage and in other non-commercial publications of Chaos & Disaster Productions related to The Remetsh Legacy. You can recall this permission at any time. The recall can be just for certain sections, stories, or totally.
  7. If your work is selected for a commercial publication, you'll be offered a fair contract about the usage of your work.

If you want to set up a fan site etc.:

  1. Create your website, consistent with the restrictions outlined:
    • You'll add the following line to your main page:
      All references to worlds and characters based on Chaos&Disaster Productions fiction (i.e. "The Remetsh Legacy") are copyright © 2000 Birgit Stäbler, Birgit Kohls, Eva "Magic" Gillmann, Francis Durbas, all rights reserved, and used by permission of the copyrightholders.
    • While not required, we would appreciate a link to this official website on your site. Remember, if you are approved, we will list your site on our Links page.
  2. Email Birgit, requesting that she reviews your site with a view to having it approved. Be sure and indicate in your note that you have read and understood the rules. If there are aspects of these rules that you do not understand, feel free to email your questions to Birgit directly.
    In all email correspondence regarding your website approval application, include the name of your site, the address of your site, and your real name (no handles please).
  3. If your site gets approved, you'll be added to the official webpage's link list and receive a certification of the approval that you can put on your webpage. Websites are reviewed on a regular base.
  4. If you don't get your site approved and you use our material, we reserve the right to take legal steps against your site.

  1. Email Birgit, requesting that she reviews your site with a view to having it approved. Be sure and indicate in your note that you have read and understood the rules. If there are aspects of these rules that you do not understand, feel free to email your questions to Birgit directly.
    In all email correspondence regarding your website approval application, include the name of your site, the address of your site, and your real name (no handles please).
  2. If your site gets approved, you'll be added to the official webpage's link list and receive a certification of the approval that you can put on your webpage.
  3. If you don't get your site approved and you use our material, we reserve the right to take legal steps against your site.
  4. If you are creating an offline (that means, no stories appear on the webpage) fan-fiction club, based on any of our series, you may have an online website to co-ordinate that activity, but everything else must occur offline.
    You can put up a brief summary of your fan story so that the club members know what is going on in it and can request the story by e-mail.
    You are free to email or snail-mail fiction to club members only -- nothing may ever appear online or in a publication, other than a members only fanzine.
  5. You cannot write with any major Remetsh Legacy characters. The story universe you write in has to be close to the one defined in the official story universe continuity.
  6. Include the following copyright information prominently on the first page of your site that any visitor or member sees when entering it, or at the top of your story:
